Our February 6 event in Jakarta, Indonesia, ‘Connecting Policy, Business & People: Digital Finance and Market Readiness for Inclusive MSMEs’ brought together policy actors and private sector representatives to discuss pressing issues for MSMEs in the APEC region, with a special focus on women-led businesses.
Hosted alongside the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) meeting, the workshop featured a panel discussion, moderated by APF Canada’s Vice-President, Research & Strategy, Vina Nadjibulla, on promoting the digital inclusion of women-led MSMEs, while balancing regulatory frameworks and the lived realities of women entrepreneurs. The panel was followed by a roundtable discussion moderated by Jan De Silva, ABAC Canada member, who engaged policy actors and ABAC members in exploring strategies to strengthen MSME participation in supply chains, particularly for women-led MSMEs.
This public-private dialogue is part of the APEC-Canada Growing Business Partnership's efforts to promote inclusive and sustainable development in five host economies: Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Viet Nam.
